Skovly Camping is located in the middle of a beautiful, rolling landscape, where small roads, forest paths and open fields invite you to experience things on two wheels.

By bike you get very close to the silence of the forests, the open landscapes and the cozy villages along the way. You can cycle past historical sights, beautiful natural areas and small, local eateries, where you can take a well-deserved break.

We have prepared a cycling guide with our personal favorites – routes we love and which show the area from its best side. In addition, Ringsted Municipality has created four marked cycling routes with descriptions, so it is easy to find the trip that suits your pace and mood.

Tram Museum Skjoldenæsholm

Ride Trams Like in the Old Days. Visit the museum for trams and buses. Today, the Tramway Museum is one of the five leading museums of its kind in the world.

Kværkeby Bird Sanctuary
Bjergvej 77, Kværkeby, 4100 Ringsted.
Cycling distance: approx. 5 km.

A 9-hectare bird sanctuary where 228 plant species, 160 bird species, 24 butterfly species, and 11 dragonfly species have been observed.

Cycling distance: approx. 9.9 km.

Here You’ll Find 350 Tea Blends, Chocolate, Sweets, and Exciting Crafts.

Buy food or dessert pancakes in the pancake house and enjoy them in the orangery.

Knud Lavard’s Chapel
Knud lavardsvej, 4100 Ringsted.
Cycling distance: approx. 8.5 km.

Ruins of Knud Lavard’s Chapel, built around 1150, and the place where Knud Lavard, the Duke of Schleswig, was murdered.

Gyldenløveshøj
4330 Hvalsø.
Cycling distance: approx. 8.2 km.

Memorial Stone at Zealand’s Highest Point 125.5 meters above sea level. Located in the Bidstrup Forests. Weapons were, among other things, dropped here to resistance fighters during World War II.

Ringsted Experience Trail
Roskildevej, 4100 Ringsted.

Distance to the start, which is at Staveds Bridge: approx. 3.5 km.

Nature and Activity Trail – Total 25 km. From Haraldsted in the north to Høm in the south. It is possible to cycle the entire route.

Food and restrooms are available only at the detour to Ringsted Designer Outlet.

Hiking in Skjoldungernes Land National Park
Cycling distance: approx. 16 km.

Walk of approx. 4.5 km in the Bidstrup Forests. Start at the Storskoven parking lot.

You are free to use the compressor, which is located at the store.

 

Does the bike need to be repaired?
At the tent sites by the small bridge there is access to mixed tools.
